The Goal:
My goal with Finora was to design a calm, approachable budgeting experience for Gen Z and young adults who want clarity and consistency with their finances — without giving up control. I focused on creating an interface that encourages intentional money habits through self-directed tracking, clear goal setting, and simple monthly planning. The design needed to feel empowering, not restrictive, and make financial management feel achievable rather than intimidating.
1
The Challenge:
One of the key challenges was designing a budgeting app that works without bank account integrations. Manual tracking can easily feel tedious or overwhelming if not handled thoughtfully. Another challenge was building trust in a Fintech product while intentionally not automating control. The interface had to clearly communicate transparency, user ownership, and simplicity — ensuring users feel confident entering and managing their own data without friction. Balancing clarity, ease of use, and long-term engagement required careful attention to hierarchy, feedback, and flow.

The Result
The result is a focused, self-directed Fintech experience that gives users structure without control. Finora presents budgeting, savings goals, and expense tracking in a clear and approachable way, helping users build consistency and confidence over time. The design demonstrates how thoughtful UX and visual restraint can establish value in Fintech by prioritizing user autonomy, trust, and clarity — especially for a Gen Z audience.
